Web Portal Walkthrough
A tour of the Synthetic Archetype workspace, in the order you'll use it: sign in, define a feature, pick personas, run a test, watch it live, and read the results.
Validations currently run from Claude Code
The Web Portal is still under development — use the Claude Code plugin to run validations. The portal is where you browse features, personas, and results while it's being built out.
Go to syntheticarchetype.com, click _Log In, and authenticate. Then open _Workspace from the top nav.
Home
Home is your dashboard. The sidebar on the left has:
- New Test — jumps straight into the AI Quick Start chat
- Home
- Hubs — Product Hub, Persona Hub, and Test Hub
The main panel shows counts for Features, Persona Pools, and Tests, plus Recent Tests and quick views of each hub. The Create New button in the header creates a Test, Feature, or Persona from anywhere.
Create a Feature
Features describe what your product does, so personas know what to look for.
- Open Product Hub (or Create New → Feature).
- Click New Feature and fill in the template:
- One-liner — what purpose the feature serves
- Entry point — how users access it, with optional Entry point context
- Happy path — the ideal step sequence (Add step for more)
- Permissions / access — who can use it; link target persona pools here, or click Add a Persona to create one inline
- Dependencies — what must exist for the feature to work
Everything auto-saves as you type.
Personas
Open Persona Hub. Two tabs:
- Personas — built-in reference personas, ready to use.
- Persona Pools — your own persona pools.
To create a pool (Create New → Persona), give it an Occupation (free text, or pick a suggestion such as "Software Engineer" or "Student") and select which of your features target it. Synthetic Archetype generates the rest: a Self Description, a starting mood, personality traits (curiosity, tech proficiency, persistence, attention to detail, risk tolerance, patience — shown on a trait radar), browsing habits, and agent memories. Click View Personas on any pool to inspect the generated individuals.
Launch a Test
Two paths:
AI Quick Start
Click New Test in the sidebar. Describe what you want validated in the chat — or attach a .md / .pdf requirements doc. The assistant drafts test cases, extracts your prototype URL, and suggests persona pools. Click Apply to Test Card to save it to the Test Hub.
Manual setup
In the Test Hub, click New Test and fill in the validation template:
- Which feature are you testing? — pick one of your features
- Are these the target personas you're trying to reach with this feature? — choose From Pools or From Presets
- Prototype Link — the URL personas will visit
- Specifically, which of the following are you interested in testing? — e.g. Feature Discovery, Feature Adoption, Feature Value
- What is your test hypothesis? — write your own, or click Suggest for AI-generated options
Click Run Test to launch.
Live Monitor
While a test runs, the Validation Monitor shows the fleet live:
- Map — a node graph of the states personas move through
- Funnel — conversion and drop-off at each step
- Narration — an AI-written account of what personas are doing
The header tracks live session count and state transitions. When the run completes, you are redirected to the results automatically.
Results
The results page summarizes the run:
- Test Overview — type, persona group, and description
- # of Synthetic Tests Completed
- Sankey Diagram of Aggregate Persona Behavior in App — the paths personas actually took
- Feature Discoverability and Feature Conversion Rate
- Ranked Consensus Insights — feedback items ranked by cross-persona agreement, each with a category, severity, and the personas behind it
